Sometimes you don’t have to go very far from home to have a five star weekend experience. For us, that meant the Mansion at Turtle Creek. My husband refers to it as The Hotel Bel Air of Dallas. It’s tucked away in a neighborhood in Dallas surrounded by lush trees and the sounds of the moving creek. You would never even know it was here it blends so beautifully into it’s serene setting.
The Restaurant and Bar
There’s something about the entrance to the restaurant that reminds me of the entryway of one of the homes I grew up in. I think it’s the limestone walls and the elegant staircase. The bar is tucked off to the side of the restaurant and might be my favorite bar … and I’m not a bar person. I probably like it because it definitely doesn’t have that cheesy pick-up vibe. The dark wood and boutique feel of the space makes you feel like you’re in a private club. It’s sophisticated. The food at the restaurant and the service is unmatched. The evening was exquisite without feeling overly stuffy. I hate stuffy. My husband and I rarely go to high-end dressy type restaurants. We prefer low-key places and for whatever reason we love to eat at the bar. Meanwhile neither one of us drinks alcohol. There’s just something sexy about sitting at the bar grabbing a quick bite.
While our anniversary isn’t until July, our schedules simply don’t allow for much alone time and this was the only time we were going to get it practically all summer. So we grabbed it!
I’m obsessed with this store … as is my husband. The dress I’m wearing is from Naked Wardrobe. I also have a bunch of bodysuits from there as well. The pricing is ridiculously reasonable!
What Else I’m Wearing
Club Monaco blazer from two years ago
Gucci Platform Pumps
Earrings – my favorite summer pair!
We spent the weekend laughing, getting massages, going for a walk by the creek and watching movies! Perfection!!
AND … did I mention the room service?! I literally love room service. I have my father to blame for that. He spoiled me rotten whenever we traveled. It wasn’t until I was much older that I realized just how spoiled I was – when I paid for my own hotel room. When we went on trips it was carte blanche – order room service whenever and whatever we wanted. The man knew how to spoil the five women in his life. BUT he was and forever will be the KING! Sorry men, but none of you will EVER match up … but you should really try very hard 🙂
