Is She Crazy?
I’m not from a California loving family. We are New Yorkers – period. We never went to the West Coast growing up … like ever! It was East Coast all the time – New York, Florida and Nantucket. So When I met my husband, who is a born and raised California guy, I still NEVER thought I would go west very often. Well, I think he has brainwashed me because now I’m actually considering living here someday. DEAR GOD what has he done?!!!!!
Yea … when you think about it – the weather is terrible here and there is no view at all. SERIOUSLY – I mean just look at this view! I have to say I thought I would hate Orange County – mostly because of how The Housewives portray it – but the parts my husband has shown me are nothing like the crap you see on the show! Corona Del Mar is easily a place I could see myself living with my dogs … but well after kids have left. 🙂
Yeah, that’s not really a factor for me because I stay pretty closed off BUT John has so many great friends here that he grew up with – it would be easy for me to hang with them whenever he wanted. The fact that I actually even like his friends is a huge plus. It’s not like I have to” put up with” his friends for the night … I actually totally love them!!
There’s also something so freeing about knowing not one person on the street. I grew up in a small town where everyone knew absolutely everything about you and even made a bunch of stuff up just to keep their lives from seeming as boring as they actually were. I feel the same way in Dallas, I can actually go to the grocery store and not see anyone I know. It’s nice but I guess that’s because I’m an introvert. A lot of people might hate that, but then again they would probably make much more of an effort to make friends than I do. C’est la vie!

I’ve gotta go hang with kids now, but consider life outside your comfort zone once and awhile. You might really be surprised!! XO
