We Are Family
I can’t remember the last time I went to a wedding. Actually, it was probably my second wedding to my current husband. In general, I hate weddings. I find them long and really boring. So I am unbelievably happy to say that my niece’s wedding was the most fun wedding I have EVER been to – no joke! The band was amazing, but more importantly, the crowd was a ton of fun. My entire family was there and we haven’t all been together like that in years. My nieces and nephews and my kids were dancing up a storm. We all just let loose and had the BEST time.
What Did I Wear
I looked for months for a dress to wear to the wedding and one to wear to the rehearsal dinner. Nothing, and I mean nothing, was knocking my socks off. So, I reached deep into my closet and pulled out two Versace dresses that I had bought in my 20’s and probably only wore each once or twice. It was obvious the designs was still current – in fact – they are timeless. That’s what you get when you’re dealing with a genius like Gianni Versace. The fabrics are an unbelievable quality, and the designs are stand out brilliant. The one for the rehearsal dinner was a double layer with two different fabrics that played off each other in a way you would never expect. The one I wore to the wedding is a show stopper. It’s the most beautiful pale blue in the most elegant silk brocade-like fabric. People commented all night long about how beautiful the dress was, and were even more shocked to hear it was over 23 years old. You can see the detail below ….
I know there are people and stylists who will tell you to throw it out if you haven’t worn it in a year, but let this be a lesson … know when and what to save. You don’t HAVE to throw it away. Sometimes the oldies are definitely the goodies!!!
Congrats Chip & Kris!!! Kathy you pulled off the best event EVER & the Voute clan rocked it!!!
